August 2025

Dear Friends,

June was a busy month for us, July less so it being peak holiday season, though Alison Irvine led an evening wildlife walk on Wed 16th. Coffee 'n chat will be at the Hall as usual on Thu 4th Aug 10:30 - all welcome. And please save 2pm on Sat 30th August for the Putting Green's 100th celebrations. Starting in the Hall with tea/coffee and cakes (free) while reviewing historical display. Then, for those willing, a competition on the Green itself. Burnturk is now unique in having such an historic putting green. Fife once had many, ours remains valued and in use every year.

Snail Race and Wildlife Night on Saturday 14th June was great fun for young and old alike - with trophy. See winner and winning snail plus trophy on right (no snails were harmed in this activity and all safely returned to their location!)

Our annual barbeque was on Saturday 28th June. Due to the windy weather it was held in Burnturk village hall. A great gathering and a convivial evening. The Putting Green held their next barbeque on Saturday 12th July from 6pm, weather was great.

Looking further to the future, our MacMillan Coffee event will be on Saturday 27th September with home produce, shiatsu massage, tea/coffee and cake!
