February 2026
Dear Friends,
We are in the news! BKCT is one of the local groups awarded a grant by Fife Climate Hub through our membership of FCCAN (Fife Communities Climate Action Network). This will support climate related activities. Our project involves creating a wildflower meadow and dead hedge for wildlife, various workshops and activities to get people involved with climate action including making bug hotels and bird boxes. Two recent events were much enjoyed. These were Tom Lane's talk "My Journey from Horse Riding to a Countryside Career" on Tuesday 27th January (see image below) and our pot luck supper on Friday 30th January (many lovely dishes were shared).
Our next talk is on Wednesday 4th February at 7.30pm in the Hall. Angus Stenhouse will cover his experiences about his travels in Vietnam and Cambodia. Not just his holiday snaps, but a personal view about the countries and how they have evolved and developed over the years. The cost is £4, which includes light refreshments.
Then, on Tuesday 24th February at 7:30pm, it's local history and information. Come and share your knowledge and stories about our local area, its past and its community. Mining, industry, farming, houses large and small, characters, clubs - in fact anything you want to share. Facilitated by Karen Masters. Refreshments provided, donation to BKCT.
I'll send out reminders of other future events nearer the time, and I attach below a copy of our winter/spring programme (click to see full pages).
Yours sincerely,
Aileen (Chairperson) and Alison (Secretary)
