The Putting Club
The Putting Club
The Putting Club has been running in Burnturk since 1925. Initially, putting took place on the village green,
reputably using the holes left by the stake to which a pony was tethered to graze. The
club has had its own facilities since 1935. The putting green and pavilion are reached from the footpath which links Burnturk and Kettlehill and are not directly accessible by car.
The Club is not formally linked to the Burturk and Kettlehill Community Trust, though it has many members in common. The Club's functions are aligned wih the aims of the Trust - to encourage community participation.
Membership of the Club is open to anyone. The Club aims to hold monthly barbecues and competitions, Covid restrictions permitting, from June until September. At other times members and their families can play on the green at any time. It is also open for visitors to play by prior arrangement.
The putting green has wonderful views over the Howe of Fife. A game of putting and watching the
sun set over the hills is a very pleasant way to pass a summer's evening in the village.
